In a Paris Café, May 30th 2007, Robert Faurisson says, that Ernst Zündel is his "dearest friend", his "inspiration". The recording was taken after the appeal trial at the 11th chamber of appeal of Paris, where Faurisson had defended himself against a court verdict from oct 3rd 2006, which had sentenced him to 3 months of prison on probation and a fine of 7,500 Euros, because he had given 2005 a telephonic interview in French to an Iranian TV-journalist from the Iranian channel SAHAR 1, in which F. had repeated his conviction, that the holocaust didn't happen as told (no gas chambers, no order by the German NS-gouvernment, to exterminate the Jews). The interview had been broadcasted on satellite TV, and according to the French court, this meant that the interview had been heard in France and thus Faurisson had broken the French law, which forbids - in short terms - to deny the holocaust. The decision of the appeal court will be delivered on July 4th 2007. Faurisson wanted to stress in this message to Ernst Zündel, that Zündel should be assured of his compassion and his "day-and-night-thoughts", because F. hadn't sent any message to Z. while him being in prison in Germany. Zündel has been sentenced early 2007 to 5 years of prison in Germany because of his holocaust denial, after he had been detained in solitary confinement in Canada for 2 years and another apx. 2 years in Germany in custody awaiting his trial. This means Zündel will be roughly 9 years in prison because of his opinion on the holocaust.
